Expressing likes and dislikes I adore apples. I love apples. I really like apples. I quite like apples. I don’t mind apples. I don’t really like apples. I hate apples.  I can’t stand apples.  I really don’t like apples. How much do you like? it assumes that you do like it and the questioner wants to know the degree of liking.  Do you like it?  is simply questioning the preference. I find this disgusting. (extreme hate) I hate this. I don't like this very much. This makes me feel uneasy. (mild dislike) I think it is ok. (mild like) I think it is not bad.
